The Benefits of Regular Massage Sessions

OKyou have had your first massage and found out how great you felt afterward, but now you want to know.. "How often should I schedule a massage session?" Although there is no set answer, studies show that getting a massage at regular intervals is very beneficial to your overall health.

In a Newsweek article entitled "The Magic of Touch," the advantages of frequent massage are addressed.

"From assembly lines to corporate headquarters, Americans are discovering the magic of massage. At Boeing and Reebok, headaches, back strain and fatigue have all fallen since the companies started bringing in massage therapists . . .

"Doctors have started prescribing massage to help patients manage stress and pain.....

"Scientists are now finding that massage can reduce blood pressure, boost the immune system, dampen harmful stress hormones and raise mood-elevating brain chemicals such as serotonin. And you can't beat massage for relaxation...."

Massage relaxes tense muscles and stimulates the body's communication lines to help it do its job of keeping you feeling your best!

What is a Swedish Massage?

The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. This will increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.

Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses.

Swedish massage feels good and is both relaxing and invigorating at the same time. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

All the therapists at The Center are fully trained and proficient in Swedish Massage.

Plans for the Future

The Center will soon be offering Facials. Licensed, professional estheticians are ready and waiting to offer this additional service to our clients. We have applied to the State of Florida and are just awaiting approval of our license. We hope to have this service available by Valentine's Day.

The cost of a facial in the peaceful atmosphere of The Center will be $40.00.
